Wydaho Rendezvous MTB Festival & Super D Race

We’re less than a week away from the 5th Annual Wydaho Rendezvous Mountain Bike Festival which takes place at Grand Targhee Resort from August 29th – September 1st over Labor Day weekend. This year’s festival looks to be bigger than ever with demo booths from ten different bike companies. I also hear registration is up significantly over last year. Maybe …

Grove Creek | Drake Creek

Last week Kinney and I checked out the Grove Creek to Drake Creek Ride in the southern end of the Big Holes. I had never ridden these before but gathered from reading a few descriptions and talking to several people who had ridden them, that there would be some hiking involved. Pushing bikes up steep hills is typically not my …

Red Creek

This week Beth and I rode Pine Creek Pass again, taking a more popular loop this time. We started at Spooky, pedaled up to the junction with Corral Creek, and headed east. From there we climbed up to the top of Red Creek and coasted down to the other end of Corral. The first part of the downhill on Red …

Spooky | Corral Creek

A few days ago I took G-Money for a ride around a couple of the Pine Creek Pass trails. Starting w/Spooky I pedaled up to the junction of Corral Creek and took a left heading West. From there we rode down to the Sheep Driveway. This half of the trail is super smooth, fast, and flowy. In order to map …

Mahogany Creek

Yesterday Beth and I rode the south fork of Horseshoe to Mahogany Creek. We started at the trailhead to Mahogany and got the 11 mile road ride out of the way first. Having ridden the south fork once already this summer, the climb didn’t seem so bad this time. As I mentioned in my last post about that trail, It’s …

Horseshoe Canyon | South Fork

Today I rode the South Fork of Horseshoe Canyon. This was only the second time I had ridden this trail. The first time was probably 6 years ago and it was the first trail I ever rode in Teton Valley. Back then it was a completely different trail used mostly by horses and motor bikes. It was steep, loose, narrow, …

Lower Horseshoe Canyon Loops

Over the last couple days Beth and I did a couple laps on the lower Horseshoe Canyon trails. First day we rode Bovine/Shark’s Belly/Probation/Burgh/Bumper/Cody’s/Sodbuster/Southbound/Channel Lock which add up to 12.5 miles, today we rode it all again except for Southbound which made for 9 miles. There are still two small patches of snow on Probation which you have to walk …

Bovine | Shark’s Belly

Bovine was completely clear and in great shape. Shark’s Belly still had a couple 6′ long patches of snow, there was one tree down, and the old bridge is starting to feel a little rickety, otherwise it’s in pretty decent shape. Kind of interesting to see how the landslide that covered part of the trail last year has grown back …
