Tin Cup 2017 Recap

Mountain Bike the Tetons would like to thank all of our 2017 Tin Cup Challenge donors!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you who donated!
Between May 19th and July 21st, 2017, 105 donors gave to Mountain Bike the Tetons through the Tin Cup Challenge. Totaling $21,170.80, your donations will be matched by the amazing Community Foundation of Teton Valley. They will directly fund trail advocacy, maintenance, and program development, further enhancing recreational & economic opportunities for the Teton region through development of our mountain biking resources.

What is the Tin Cup Challenge?

One of the most innovative charitable fundraisers in the nation, the Tin Cup Challenge is also one of the most successful. In 2016, the event raised $1,263,829 from nearly 964 donors. Since 2008, this event has raised an astounding $9,546,466, directly benefitting Teton Valley’s cherished non-profits working tirelessly to enhance our quality of life.

How does it work?

During the 9-week charitable giving period, donors give to their favorite local nonprofits, knowing their gifts will be matched by a grant from the Community Foundation of Teton Valley’s Challenge Fund.

The Challenger Fund

Challengers are a special group of corporations and individuals who give $1,000 or more to the Challenger Fund each year. Gifts to the Challenger Fund are used to host the Tin Cup Challenge and provide matching grants to participating nonprofits. Challengers are community leaders who promote charitable giving and intrinsically value Teton Valley’s non-profits. The generosity of our Challengers inspires increased community giving and is the key to the Tin Cup Challenge’s success.

Celebration Day

The 10th Annual Tin Cup Challenge Event Day will be fun for the whole family, offering a 5K Fun Run/Walk along with 5K and 10K competitive races for all ages.  Beginning at 9:00 AM, the Tin Cup Challenge is a great opportunity to gather with friends, family, and neighbors to support Teton Valley nonprofits.  All fun run and race participants will receive a commemorative Tin Cup Challenge t-shirt.
