Ferrins | Mountain Bike the Tetons

Great switchbacking ascent/descent to the saddle just east of radio towers on Snow Kings Summit. With good line of site this trail provides a fast fun descent, and great views of Teton Park from the saddle.

Access

This trail can be accessed from the bottom via Hagen/Hagen to Ferrins or the Hagen Highway by starting at the Cache Creek Trailhead [Directions to trailhead from town square Jackson, WY] or from the top via Josie’s Ridge [Directions to trailhead from town square Jackson, WY] or Game Creek West Fork which is accessed via Leeks Canyon [Directions to trailhead from town square Jackson, WY], Wilson Canyon [Directions to trailhead from town square Jackson, WY], or Game Creek [Directions to trailhead from town square Jackson, WY].

Options

This trail can be ridden as an out and back starting with Hagen and Hagen to Ferrins or Hagen and Hagen Highway; as a longer out and back by adding Josie’s Ridge or Leeks Canyon or Wilson Canyon or Game Creek West Fork or Game Creek West Fork to Game Creek; as part of a loop by adding Josie’s Ridge and returning on Sink or Swim to Hagen Highway; as part of a longer loop by adding Game Creek West Fork to Game Creek and returning on Cache Creek to Hagen or Cache Creek to Putt-Putt; as part of an even longer loop by adding Leeks Canyon or Wilson Canyon or Game Creek West Fork to Game Creek and returning to town on the paved Paul Merrit Bike Path; most of these options can be ridden in the reverse direction; probably countless other options that I’m missing.

We’re less than a week away from the 5th Annual Wydaho Rendezvous Mountain Bike Festival which takes place at Grand Targhee Resort from August 29th – September 1st over Labor Day weekend. This year’s festival looks to be bigger than ever with demo booths from ten different bike companies. I also hear registration is up significantly over last year. Maybe …

Cache Creek | Game Creek

Sunday Beth and I drove over the pass to Jackson. On the way we say a whole lot of cars at the Phillip’s/Jimmy’s trailhead which we’ve come to expect on the weekends. At 10am, finding a parking space already looked like a challenge. It seems that the pass trails get more popular every summer. We kept driving and unloaded the …

Hagen | Ferrins

Too much work and not enough riding this last week. I did manage to get an after work ride on Mill Creek with the wife one day this week, otherwise not much else to share. Yesterday I tried to make up for that a little. I took G-Funk, the world’s slowest coonhound, up Hagen/Hagen to Ferrins/Ferrins. This is probably my …

Hagen | Putt Putt

Today Beth, our good friend Kevin, and myself rode a section of the Hagen Highway trail which was completely clear. We were considering checking out Sink Or Swim but weren’t sure how much of that was going to be open. Afterwards we rode Hagen from the Cache Creek trail head to the end. Actually we rode most of that, there …
