With the surge in popularity of balance bikes, we are seeing children learning to ride bikes soon after walking. Kids are interested in becoming more skilled at a younger age and would greatly benefit from a program to teach bike safety, etiquette, and riding skills. The Teton area is lacking programs for young cyclists and the creation of a youth cycling league would fill this need while encouraging more kids to ride. The main focus of this program is children from kindergarten to 5th grade. Kids entering the 6th grade are encouraged to join the Teton Region Composite High School Mountain Bike Team.
Mountain Bike the Tetons is developing a youth cycling league and we need YOUR opinion!

Participants in the league will meet one day each week for an hour and a half. Participants will be assigned to a specific group based on their age and ability level. For the entire season, they ride and progress with the same kids and the same coaches. Rides are programmed to gradually challenge the participants, while still remaining fun. The goal is for the kids to establish long lasting friendships during the biking season.
We look forward to hearing your ideas!
